Summary

The formulation of public health policies depends on studies showing the real needs of interventions for appropriate allocation of resources leading to a comprehensive care and consequently an improvement in the quality of life of individuals. This study addresses the characteristics of Chronic Liver Disease (CLD), especially from the perspective of their relationship to oral diseases and the consequences of this relationship for the Capacity for Work. This case series comprised 42 patients with chronic liver disease, conducted from August to December 2014 at the Magalhães Neto Outpatient Clinic of the Hospital Complex Professor Edgard Santos University - UFBA. Although this was a preliminary assessment, a tendency to decreased ability to work in patients with any oral disease was observed.
