Summary

The physicochemical stability of formulations containing cisplatin and carboplatin kept in their primary packages was evaluated after perforating the vials. Solution appearance, pH, identification, assay and particulate material were examined, as well as 1,1-cyclobutane-dicarboxylic acid and triichloroamineplatinate in carboplatin solution and transplatin in cisplatin solution. The same tests were performed for diluted solution of cisplatin, with the exception of particulate material. The results showed no significant physicochemical changes after perforation of the vials of cisplatin and storage at room temperature (20-25ºC) protected from light for 28 days and for cisplatin solution diluted in different media during 6 hours. The results showed no significant physicochemical changes after perforation of the vials of carboplatin and storage for 8 hours and for 7 days.
